AVIDR

Support

Write to support@avidr.app. We usually answer within a day. In the app, Settings › Help › Report a problem adds your app and iOS version for you.

Listening

The studio voice isn’t there yet

The studio voice is about 400 MB and downloads once, in the background, the first time you open AVIDR on Wi-Fi. Until it arrives, books are read by the iPhone’s own voice. You can see the download in Settings › Voice.

Reading stops when I lock the phone

Check that Low Power Mode is off and that another app isn’t playing audio. If it still stops, open Settings › Help › Report a problem right after it happens, so the report includes what the voice was doing.

The phone gets warm while listening

The studio voice runs on the phone itself, which takes real work from the processor. AVIDR slows the voice’s preparation down when the phone warms up. The iPhone voice uses almost no power, if you need the battery to last.

Books

Which files can I open?

PDF, EPUB, TXT and comics in CBZ. Open them from the Files app, share them to AVIDR from another app, or browse your Google Drive library inside AVIDR. Books with DRM, such as those bought in Apple Books or Kindle, can’t be opened.

Where are my books stored?

On your iPhone. AVIDR doesn’t upload your books anywhere, including when you sign in.

Account and sync

You don’t need an account. Sign in with Apple, Google or email only if you want highlights, notes, saved words and reading progress on more than one device.

Deleting your account

In the app, go to Settings › Account › Delete Account. Your synced data is removed from our servers 30 days later. Books and highlights on your iPhone stay until you delete the app. Deleting your account doesn’t cancel a subscription; cancel that in your App Store settings.

Subscriptions

Payments go through your Apple ID. To cancel or change a plan, open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions. For a refund, use reportaproblem.apple.com; Apple handles refunds, not us. If you reinstall or switch phones, tap Restore on the Pro screen.
